Only 105 knitting days left ’til Christmas! As your thoughts turn to holiday gift knitting, you may want to check out some of the current magazine offerings. Interweave is out with its Holiday Gifts issue. Among the 43 projects are accessories for kids and adults, plus projects for the home such as cushions and ornaments. This year’s emphasis is on Scandinavian designs. The new issue of Interweave Crochet has 20 projects including socks, a striking multicolored purse and a felted e-reader cover. We still have a few copies of the Knitscene Accessories special issue, which has a variety of projects such as fingerless gloves, cowls and mitts. The premiere issue of Noro magazine is full of quick, brightly colored accessories. And last but certainly not least, Vogue has a collection of lacy and beaded outfits perfect for holiday parties, including a pair of lacy and laced-up knee socks (above) that definitely speak to the fashion-forward...

Scottish designer, Ysolda Teague, has partnered with UK yarn-makers, Fyberspates. Their line of Scrumptious yarns, a shimmery blend of Merino wool and silk, have been dyed in six colorways invented by Ysolda. She has taken these six yarns (two in aran-weight, two in sport and two in lace) and created a pattern for each. The resulting designs are fresh and playful with a sweets theme. Life at the Fiber Gallery has been a whirlwind these past few months. We are completely moved into our new space at 8212 Greenwood Ave North and completely in love with new location. We hope you’ve found the new space as light, bright and inviting as we do and we hope you’re taking advantage of our customer parking. The lot is located behind our building and you can enter it off of 83rd Street. Any of the spots labeled “Customer Parking” are free for your use. New yarns, books and accessories have been flowing in. We try to keep our customers updated right away on new arrivals on our Facebook page and on Twitter. Tomorrow we head to Tacoma for the Madrona Fiber Arts Retreat. Be sure to stop by our booth as we’ll have many brand new yarns, colors and kits to discover that have not been seen in our shop before. We’re very happy to have partnered with Stick Chick Knits, Hazel Knits and Dancing Sheep to offer an exclusive, limited edition shawl kit complete with Hazel Knits yarn, pattern and project bag.
