Knitting

Learn to Knit: One 2-hour session. Get an introduction to knitting terms and yarns. Learn the basic knit stitch and get started on your first project. Class fee includes needles and yarn. $30

Continuing Knitting: Six 2-hour sessions. This six-week-long class is designed to your moving forward in your knitting. You choose your project and we will assist you along the way. Buy or bring supplies. $120

Session 1: Wednesdays, May 16, 23, 30 and June 6, 13 and 20, 6 to 8 p.m.

Session 2: Sundays, June 3, 10, 17, 24 and July 1 and 8, 10 to noon

Finishing Basics: One 2-hour session. Learn the essential skills you need to properly finish your knitted items. Mattress stitch, picking up stitches and button holes will be covered. Buy or bring supplies (homework provided at registration). $20.

Bias Lace Scarf: Two 2-hour sessions. A great introduction to simple lace knitting, this scarf creates diagonal stripes using self-striping yarn and knitting on the bias. Buy or bring supplies (list provided at registration). $40

Easy Basic Hat: Two 2-hour sessions. Learn the basics of knitting a hat including knitting in the round on circular needles and double-points and your choice of edgings. Buy or bring supplies (list provided at registration). $40

Terraced Shawl: Two 2-hour sessions. Designed by our own Hannah Ingalls, the Terraced Shawl is an excellent project for a beginning knitter. Learn to create triangular shaping and a whimsical picot bind-off while knitting this wonderful free pattern.  $40
